Crackdown - First Impression
I had to send my xbox back to be repaired. This was a bad thing on its own but while it was gone my preorder of Crackdown came in. So for the next week I had to sit and look at I wanted bad enough to preorder and no Xbox to play it on. When I got my box back the first game I put in was Crackdown.
It was not what I expected at all but in a good way. I figured it would be more of a straight action game in the vain of Grand Theft Auto. It does have certain similarities to tho...

It was not what I expected at all but in a good way. I figured it would be more of a straight action game in the vain of Grand Theft Auto. It does have certain similarities to those games but there is a lot more to Crackdown than what first appears. When you start the game youll realize that your character has more than human abilities. As you power him up he gains stats to his abilities. Quickly he will be lifting cars and jumping over 30 feet in the game. This is from very little play time. I didnt expect that but it adds a lot more to than the game just running around and killing guys. Sure youre still running around and killing guys but at least you can do it in style.
Other than the incredible graphics that it offers, they certainly didnt skimp on the size on the world you can explore. Not only do you have large well mapped out city where you can drive around on the streets but you can also climb up all the buildings. It really adds a lot of territory that you can cover. I heard a friend say that if you only played on the street level of the game you were missing about 75% of what the game had to offer. After playing it only for a little while I can definitely see what he was meaning by that.
